Just read about the use of Amazon's Kindle reader and website http://www.pdfplates.com/ in AOPA Magazine as a possible solution to printed approach plates.
Nothing new about downloadable approach plates, but PDFPlates.com groups the downloads by region (identical to the approach plate books), making bulk downloads a lot easier.
PDFPlates also builds a PDF Index of the plates.
A Kindle is $500, but PDFs can be viewed on any computer (Kindle seems a lot easier in the cockpit than a laptop -- unless the laptop is a tablet PC).
